RIVERSIDE, CA - This Friday, November 11, the 2011 HPI Racing West Coast Baja Nationals event kicks off in Riverside, California. Qualifying races will be held Friday and Saturday, with finals being held on Sunday, November 13.

Baja Modifiers Winter Challenge 2012

February 24-26 2012

Baja Modifiers is proud to announce the 1^st Winter HPI Baja event ever in the US. We will be holding this event in 2 locations. This 1^st will be out at the home of Baja Modifiers in Orangeville, Pa. That’s right on Friday Feb. 24 we will be holding ICE oval and Indy style racing and of course the Ice Drag strip at our 2 huge ponds.

Then we will move to the Bloomsburg Fair Grounds for Indoor Off-Road and Dirt Oval racing. We will be racing in Bloomsburg on Saturday and Sunday Feb 25th and 26^th. We will be in 2 heated buildings on the Fair grounds. One building will be used for the tracks and the other will be for pitting, vendors, and concessions. Both have restrooms and there is plenty of parking. On Friday we will be using a 100 x 200 building which is heated for your pit area. We will also have lights up for racing at night on the Ice if you dare.

At OBR we always enjoy when a custom build comes our way. When Jeff contacted us for a methanol big bore twin we were more than happy to build it. Thanks Jeff! We are looking forward to posting up again on our blog when you have video ready. Here is a few pictures that Jeff took. 

We just found out today that Andrea will flying from Italy to come out and race at the HPI nationals next week. We are looking forward to meeting Andrea and watching him rip around the all new track that John Schultz has built for the event.

Today we added two new twins to our website. The first is the Shreadhead Edition 45cc. Shreadhead has done a lot of testing with the twins for us. With his twin he shot for keeping the front end on the ground for quick take off and insane top speed. Being that it is the smallest displacement we offer the torque is less aggresive than the bigger sizes. Also being smaller it is the highest reving twin that we build. The second new twin to go up is the 57cc. Same bottom end as the smaller twins but with Zenoah 36mm top ends to get the displacement up. Being the biggest twin we offer the 57cc has proven to have the most torque out of all the sizes.

Today, our gearing was put back into stock. We have improved upon our gearing. The following changes have been maid:

Spur gear carriers are broached and no longer attach to the layshaft with set screws

Clutch bells have been vented to prevent clutch heat when using an open carrier.  

New items:

We are now offering clutch bells for the stock hpi clutch system.

17/57 and 18/56 gearing have been added. 

*Tech note:

All of our gearing is compatible with both the stock hpi and turtle racing clutch system.To use our gearing you will need a  hpi or turtle OBR clutch bell and spur gear carrier. Carriers (PN#1703) are compatible with the stock hpi layshaft, craftwerks layshaft and OBR twin layshaft.

1. Take it easy on the engine for the first two tanks 

2. Heat cycle twice, run the engine for 20 minutes and let it fully cool down

3. We recommend 91 octane fuel, mixed at 25:1 Our preffered oil is Castor 927

4. Let your engine warm up before driving

5. Try to vary the rpms during breaking. 

5. DO NOT HOLD FULL THROTTLE UNTIL THE ENGINE IS COMPLETELY BROKEN IN!!!

7. Do not use octane booster

We want to introduce our newest motor to you, the PROSTOCK line.  The PROSTOCK line replaces the race ported engine line.   The PROSTOCK engines produce more power than the race ports and are more economical and is a great engine for all levels of drivers.  

The prostock engine line produces more HP than the race ports at the same price if not less.   For those of you that are new to ported engines, we shot for ease of use. This engine is very easy to start and to tune the carb.  Additionally, we have left the porting open on this engine. At any time, you may send the engine in to us to be upgraded to a full mod or a full mod long rod.
