My name is Eddy Turney. I love the competition of racing. All my life I've raced something.  When my son was born 28 years ago I was racing 3 Wheelers.  I raced all over and finished eighth in the world nationals but decided to quit racing professionally to be able to spend more time at home with my family.  A friend introduced me to RC car racing. I started this mostly for the love of the competition plus it was a little safer of the sport now that I had a family.  I raced on and off for about 25 years. Some friends took me to Exeter Hobbies where I'm at Mark and his staff.  He had 1/5 Scales on display. Right then I knew I had to have one, so I bought my own Christmas present that year about three years ago.  I started searching for 1/5 scale tracks online and found one at Glen Helen  and took my car there to run it. First time out I met Chris, Hollywood and Anthony. Great people. They helped me with a few things and got me going in the right direction.  I've been raised my first Ashley Cup and did well. Met a lot of great people who were all very helpful.  They told me about the Chase compound and races. I ran the series there and did great. Again Met some really great people. At the end of the series they had an awards event at which team Chase, Chris and Anthony had arranged for Losi and Horizon to pick me up as a driver for their team and sponsor me.  Shortly after that pro line tires also chose to sponsor me.  I'm so blessed and thankful for the opportunity to represent my sponsors and help others however I can. Today Dan from OBR approached me and asked me to join the OPR CORR team with him and his teammates.  I was very excited the team had asked me to join them. A great group of guys and gals. It would be an honor to race with them and the Christy boys seeing three generations racing together shows that this is a great family sport. I'm so appreciative to get this opportunity. Thank you for everything. Eddy Turney
